To kick off Veteran's Day weekend, 50-year country music  veteran and United States Air Force veteran Mel Tillis will make his way to the Deadwood Mountain Grand Event Center stage at 8 p.m. Friday, November 9.

"What better way to say thank you to our servicemen and women than by bringing them Mel Tillis for a strong start to Veterans Day weekend?" asked Deadwood Mountain Grand general manager Brad Hemmah. "We are proud to present Mr. Tillis and privileged to offer this fine entertainer at 50 percent off to all veterans. It's our way of saying thank you in a GRAND way. We truly appreciate the efforts of and sacrifices made by each and every United States veteran in this country."

Country music legend, Tillis has been in the music/entertainment business now for more than five decades. He and his band, the Statesiders, have worked concerts all over the 50 states, Canada, England, and other countries.

The New Christy Minstrels, a group that is 50 years young, still going strong and founded on a love for good old-fashioned folk music, will return to the Deadwood Mountain Grand stage at 3 p.m. Sunday September 23.
