Despite recent Facebook rumors, the Legend is alive and well and looks forward to another strong year of touring

- George Jones is alive and well, and happy to be touring.  After performing two successful shows this weekend, Jones is scheduled to appear on average six to eight more shows each month continuing into 2013.

Joined by his accompanying family of musicians, Nashville-based guitar, accordion, keyboardist and multi-instrumentalist aficionado Rory Hoffman, originally of Lemmon, So. Dak. and due to be inducted into the South Dakota Country Music Hall of Fame the same weekend he plays in Deadwood, will take to the Deadwood Mountain Grand event center stage as the anchor act in the Rory Hoffman Family Reunion Concert at 9 p.m. Friday, September 7. Hoffman's induction into the South Dakota Country Music Hall of Fame is set to take place Sunday, September 9.

They’re heading to Deadwood for an eagerly awaited Labor Day weekend show. Featuring a treasure trove of classic country hits, Grammy award-winning Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers take to the Deadwood Mountain Grand Event Center stage at 9 p.m. Saturday.

“Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers’ award-winning vocal blend is an unmistakable sound all its own,” said Deadwood Mountain Grand General Manager Brad Hemmah. “We are truly looking forward to hosting this grand country group in the Grand’s event center.”

Officially putting another successful Rally week behind them, locals were ready-to-rock Friday night, as .38 Special played to a packed, standing room only house at Deadwood Mountain Grand, performing a donated concert, with free but ticketed admission, designed to thank businesses and their employees across the Black Hills for banding together and their hard work.

Deadwood Mountain Grand officials deemed the first annual Haulin' for Heroes charity ride through Spearfish Canyon, held during Sturgis Rally week a success, raising more than $12,000 to benefit combat wounded veterans.

Featuring more than 50 riders and 150 VIP auction go-ers banding together to help the national Wounded Warriors project, funds were raised through registration fees and the auctioning off of a group of 15 one-of-a-kind auction items, many signed and autographed.

All set to strum her stuff, Wynonna Judd takes to the Deadwood Mountain Grand Event Center stage at 9 p.m. Saturday, August 18. And five lucky ticket holders participating in the Wynonna VIP Tweet Seat Promotion on Twitter will receive a pair of seat upgrades and meet and greet passes for this concert.

“Tickets are selling fast for the chance to see this amazing woman, a highly gifted and talented musician perform,” said Deadwood Mountain Grand sales & marketing director Susan Kightlinger. “Wynonna is country music royalty and we are thrilled to have her perform in our area and are privileged to have her grace our stage.”

It's first come, first served Tuesday at 2 p.m., as Deadwood Mountain Grand extends a post-rally "Grand" Thank You to the community by offering 200 free .38 Special concert tickets to the first 100 takers.

The tickets will be given out in pairs of two and the .38 Special concert will be held at 9 p.m. Friday in the Deadwood Mountain Grand event center. According to Deadwood Mountain Grand officials, the event is free, but ticketed.
