The Avett Brothers Return to Deadwood Mountain Grand

AvettBrothers Screens-1DEADWOOD, S.D. (1/15/16) – After bringing the house down with an incredible performance in 2014, the Avett Brothers make their return to Deadwood Mountain Grand on Tuesday, June 14th at 8pm.

The Avett Brothers’ music has roots in traditional folk and bluegrass, but also captures the high spirits and no-boundaries attitude of rock & roll – which is appropriate, since rock is where Scott and Seth Avett first cut their teeth as musicians. Although the brothers started making music together as children, their group’s genesis began when they were members of Nemo, a rock band that gigged regularly in Greenville, North Carolina. Looking for another outlet, the Avetts began getting together with like-minded friends where they’d share drinks and swap songs. This group, called “the Back Door Project” eventually became the Avett Brothers and the rest, as they say, is history.

“We knew how talented this band was when we booked them in 2014,” said Susan Kightlinger, Resort Manager for Deadwood Mountain Grand. “But we had no idea they had the following they did until we saw the crowd the night they performed. It was a spectacular show, with a great crowd.”

Known for their spot-on lyrics and American roots music authenticity, the band has released such hits as “November Blue”, “Live & Die”, “Slight Figure Of Speech”, “I And Love And You” and “February 7” just to name a few.
